Anchor Bay UK picks up Alex Chandon’s Inbred

Early last year I came across a teaser that sent a chill down my spine. It featured a group of what seemed like kids, torturing someone propped up like a scarecrow. It was kinda freaky. What sucked is that I couldn’t remember the name of the film until now. The film is “Inbred” and it promises to be the shot in the arm that the homicidal hillbilly sub genre needs. Check out the trailer inside as well as the latest info on this soon to be classic.

Here is the teaser that creeped me out:

A disparate group of young urban offenders and their care workers embark on a community service weekend in the strange, remote Yorkshire village of Mortlake, which prides on keeping itself to itself. A minor incident with some local inbred youths rapidly escalates into a blood-soaked, deliriously warped nightmare for all involved…

Starring: Jo Hartley, James Doherty, James Burrows, Seamus O’Neill, Terry Haywood, Nadine Rose Mulkerrin, Neil Leiper, and Chris Waller.

Directed by Alex Chandon, Inbred was shot in late 2010 and premiered at FRIGHTFEST FILM FESTIVAL in London, UK in August 2011. After playing a few select festivals, it was picked up by Anchor Bay films and will be coming to DVD and BD on October 8th. There is a confirmed 2012 U.S. street date as well but it has not been revealed. Hopefully we won’t have to wait to much longer. I need something to interrupt my sleep.
