Directed by Evan Cecil and Starring Sean Patrick Flannery, Lindsey Morgan, and Andrew Jacobs – The film Lasso follows An Active Senior Tour Group that’s on an outing and it turns deadly when crazed, bloodthirsty cowboys from the local rodeo attraction begin abducting and killing people but not before an accident that cuts the rodeo short, and the group begins their journey home, this is when the fun really starts to begin, the crowd bears witness to a woman being chased by a lasso-wielding maniac.

Normally when I watch a film I believe I have a pretty good idea of who is going to live and who may come close, with this one, well I was lost. The film uses a particular formula and shapes the plot quite well but I was thrown off, so kudos to the filmmakers. LASSO is definitely a movie for the fans of the slasher genre, so if you’re a fan, Lasso is the film for you. Mixed with suspense and blended with plenty of blood.

This movie is for fans of the slasher genre. If you aren’t one of those, to begin with, then you might not care for it. But if you are a fan of the genre, then LASSO delivers the goods in terms of suspense and plentiful well-executed gore scenes this is Evan Cecil’s feature debut and I felt it traveled a  road to a very unique approach in the slasher genre, I can’t really call back to any other western-type horror slasher’s I’ve seen.

LASSO isn’t a film a film that is gonna bring a lot of specific meaning to the viewer but will please a specific audience, and it does this seamlessly. A satisfying slasher film with a blend with good ole brutality and comedy LASSO is a movie to be viewed with friends and of course booze, just make sure you have enough ice!
