Normally I would start off with examples of other movies in the genre or a profound opening statement. But not for SLAXX, because it is simply in a class all its own. It’s like a skit for a fake horror film that you say “I wish that was real…I’d watch!” Libby (Romane Denis) is starting work at CCC. A trendy, “Forever 21” style store. Everyone is an asshole that works there and they have bought into the hype. Their new “Gender Inclusive” (whatever the hell that means) jeans mold themselves to the wearer. I guys that’s cool unless the jeans are blood thirsty.
There is really not a lot to say about this film. It’s super fun but any real points would spoil it. Libby is new. Her boss is a selfish evil man, you know. Everyone that dies are people you don’t care about. It is the typical formula, but done in such a way that you can’t beat it.
There is a message here as well if you are looking for it but honestly, who is? You are grown. You don’t need a movie to tell you the evils of consumerism.
SLAXX is a fun time. Maybe pair it up with Death Bed: The Bed That Eats People. Either way. This is a film like no other and you will have a good time if you give it a watch!
