Event Review: THE PYRAMID Escape Room

Escape Rooms are always great. You are usually put into a room with a couple of strangers and forced to fight for your life by solving puzzles and working together. A few days ago I had the chance to experience the latest room from ESCAPE ROOM L.A. and it’s called THE PYRAMID.

The Pyramid is one of the best escape rooms I’ve been in. It has multiple rooms that force you to really think on your feet. One of the unique things is though Pyramids conjure up visions of ancient Egypt, this is actually a Mayan Pyramid so the feeling aesthetic and puzzles are completely different. There is a real sense of forbidden jungle here and that alone makes it a stand out.

The goal is simple, you must find your way to a burial chamber and restore the jade mask to the dead warrior. Along the way you will find tunnels, secret chambers, traps and more.

I can’t recommend this one enough but beware. This one is hard so bring your best players with you!

Escape Room L.A. has five rooms including The Pyramid, open Tuesday through Friday evenings (every 30 minutes from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.), and weekend afternoons and evenings (every 30 minutes from 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.). Tickets range from $32 to $37, depending on the date and time. For bookings and additional information, visit www.escaperoomla.com, or call 213.689.3229.
