Los Angeles, Calif. – June XX, 2017 – As announced at Cannes, Shout! Factory, a multi-platform media company, has acquired North American distribution rights to psychological thriller JACKALS, directed by Kevin Greutert (Jessabelle, Visions) and written by Jared Rivet. Produced by Tommy Alastra (Sunset Strip), JACKALS stars Deborah Kara Unger (Crash, Silent Hill), Stephen Dorff (Blade, Leatherface), Johnathan Schaech (That Thing You Do!, Arsenal), Nick Roux (Jane by Design), Chelsea Ricketts (Scream Queens, True Blood) and Ben Sullivan (Hell on Wheels, Stonewall). The announcement was made today by Shout Factory’s founders Richard Foos, Bob Emmer and Garson Foos, Shout’s Vice President of Acquisitions Jordan Fields and filmmakers Kevin Greutert and Tommy Alastra.
Shout! Factory has secured all North American distribution rights to JACKALS, including theatrical, video on-demand, digital, broadcast and home entertainment for cross-platform releases in U.S. and Canada. Shout’s Scream Factory™ Films plans a strategic rollout of this movie across multiple entertainment platforms, beginning with a theatrical launch this fall 2017.
“Jackals is terrifying, full stop. It’s a potent cocktail of horror, thriller and siege, and somehow it leaves you both drained and adrenalized. We’re eager to share that experience with North American movie audiences,” said Jordan Fields, Vice President of Acquisitions at Shout! Factory.
“Jackals is an intense, terrifying story about familial bonds and the dangers of radicalization that taps into many of the issues and fears we as a society face today,” said Tommy Alastra, film producer and founder of TAP INC. “I’m very excited for this partnership with Shout! Factory and their subsidiary Scream Factory. As one of the preeminent forces in genre entertainment today, I believe they are the perfect fit to bring Jackals to audiences around the globe.”
The film deal was negotiated by Dave McIntosh and Vanessa Flanders for Shout! Factory, and Elsa Ramo of Ramo Law for TAP INC.
