It seems like Elvira is everywhere these days, which is a great thing. One more place Elvira, Mistress of the Dark will be “popping out” at, is an new exhibition and art book from Baby Tattoo Books. Read on for the details…

Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, joins a cavalcade of pinup girls and monsters for “Beauties Beasts”, a first-of-its-kind museum exhibition and art book. Olivia De Berardinis is the world’s greatest living pinup artist. Jordu Schell is a renowned Hollywood monster maker who creates unique fine-art monster masks. The duo is on the verge of unveiling a breathtakingly bizarre exhibition of never-before-seen-together creations at the Oceanside Museum of Art in Southern California. Curated by Bob Self as part of the “Carnival of Astounding Art”, the exhibition is titled “Beauties Beasts”… a literal description of what audiences will encounter when they visit the show or peruse the pages of the companion art book to be published by Baby Tattoo Books.

BeautiesBeastsBannerFaces_v001The book itself has already generated quite a bit of excitement through a successful campaign on Kickstarter. The project is well past its initial fundraising goal; and, as the funding period enters its final few days, a major new announcement has been made. Elvira, an undisputed expert in things both beautiful and beastly, will be contributing a written foreword to the book. Olivia’s classic pinup-style painting of the Mistress of the Dark will also be exhibited at the museum and reproduced in the book.

The Kickstarter campaign is literally in its final days, and can be accessed at http://beautiesbeasts.com. Project backers are able to acquire exclusive rewards not available with the standard edition of the book.
